Le Val Dore Carp Fishing in France:

For those of you that have never fished France and would like to travel there, Val Dore is a good starting place. It only takes 1 ½ hours drive from Calais on P&O ferries or 45minutes drive from Boulogne . There are five lakes at Val Dore, with plenty of carp to 74lb+. Please don't listen to all of the nonsense you hear on the carp forums from the internet. As you well know you can blank wherever you go around Europe fishing. Too many people expect to travel to France and catch loads of carp, this doesn't always happen. I myself have fished at these lakes since 2005, and yes I have blanked a few times, but I have also caught a load of big carp to 53lb 6oz.

Check out there website: www.valdore.com and you will not be disappointed. All the lakes hold fish to 50+, the lake record at the moment is 74lb, with a few 60's thrown in.
